Ultra's long-term success is dependant upon meeting our customers' needs. That means not just delivering a product, but providing continued services and support throughout the product life-cycle. We attach great importance to building enduring relationships with our customers, and understanding the requirements of our markets. And our commitment extends over the long-term, recognising that logistic support and obsolescence management is just as important as equipment supply.

To give an example, Ultra’s new submarine weapons interfacing electronics for the Royal Navy will be supported for a period of 20 years. Building strong relationships across the supply chain is also fundamental to our success. Our strengths in systems design, software development and value engineering have enabled us to secure strategic roles as a partner of choice for prime contractors and system integrators. We are equally adept at taking leadership in joint programme endeavours with selected industry partners.

Ultra also maintains extremely close contacts with stakeholder groups across the UK Ministry of Defence, including the Defence Logistics Organisation, the Defence Procurement Agency and the Equipment Capability Customer organisation. These links ensure that we understand the needs of the user, and allow us to identify the optimum balance of investment to meet long term capability management objectives. Our customers and partners provide the best testament to our business culture. In 2005 our Advanced Tactical Systems business unit received two awards from Lockheed Martin for outstanding supplier performance, and our Sonar & Communication Systems operation received a letter of commendation from the UK Defence Procurement Agency for the RTOF programme.
